MARRAKESH, MOROCCO

1 week/ $2,500

Special Package:

4 weeks/ $5,000

As one of our main destinations where we will be providing our help is Morocco. Morocco is a warm weather country located in Africa. The currency is Moroccan Dirham, which is roughly around 9.6 dirhams (DH) per 1 USD. As a guide, due to the increase in the amount of tourist reported each year, prices have increased in tourist areas up to a point where it can be compared with European tourism. Other than Berber and Arabic, Moroccans speak English in the larger cities. Although it is a place known for scams, Moroccans are known to be very welcoming and gentle. Overall It is worth to visit.

Morocco overall stands out due to the amount of tourists sites throughout the country. Some of these attraction points can be identified as the Royal Palace. Designed by French architects, guarded by royal guards, currently it is not possible for any tourist to enter the inside of the palace. Other interest points may be walking through markets on a camel back ride. Another tourist attraction is El Badi Palace, which is an architectural attraction. Built on 1594, there remains only a huge esplanade carved gardens, planted with orange trees and surrounded by high walls.

Here, our main purpose is to bring a higher level of education as well as a more accessible one. Volunteers will be able to build more school centers and organize and develop even further into the school system. Furthermore we will include and provide gender-synchronized approaches. Being a difficult place for female gender to prosper since education is not provided as much as for males, volunteers will focus more in that part. With these goals in mind, we will visit school/education related sites for tourism.

As an extended option in our package, we have chosen Morocco and added a 4-week feature. In this feature most of the activities already present will be done for an extended period of time. This includes volunteering with the unique and amazing village while helping villagers with their daily tasks, and work in local community centers in the Atlas Mountains. These tasks also include teaching english to children and teeenagers in the community and villages. With a 4 week period frame, we are able to deeply reach people and their communities. This means that HOPE will be able to further enrich children with a better education and help the community facilities in a deeper way.
